I don't disagree with your comment. The problem is that, as I tried to argue, Democrats have forgotten how to craft an inclusive message that will include "straight, white Americans."
Agree with the Professor. Nothing demonstrates the incompetence of our current D's more than their embrace of identity politics--"everyone is a victim". A close second is their conviction that there must be a federal solution to every problem. These have enabled a unified R government here in Iowa well into its second decade and growing stronger with each cycle. The worm will turn, but not until the D's reform.
I would comment only to say that liberals/progressives/Democrats actually respect and fight for a WIDER group of Americans. Fighting for racial, gender and economic equality are lofty goals. Why straight, white Americans don’t reward that is the real problem.
